POSITION 1: Chief Accountant (Retail)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for preparation of all tax and statutory reports;
• Develop and implement various accounting procedures;
• Preparation of the monthly statutory accounts and consolidated financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS;
• Work with both internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits;
• Maintain system of accounts and keep records on all company transactions and assets;
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers and documents business transactions;
• Coordinate monthly closing process and reconciliation of general ledger accounts;
• Assist with annual budgets – prepares all allocations;
• Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures;
• Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports;
• Prepares work papers and supporting schedules for the annual financial review;
• Report, analyze, and ensure integrity of all financial information.
• Assures compliance with local and corporate policies, regulations and laws;
• Reviews accounts payables and weekly check runs;
• Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits;
• Distributes monthly comparison reports and cost center reports according to schedules;
• Applies cost accounting methods to achieve accurate representation of cost center performance;
• Prepares financial statements and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position;
• Analyze transactional processes and identify areas where additional accuracies and efficiencies can be achieved;
• Closely maintains and monitors the fixed assets system;
• Adheres to internal and external deadlines;
• Support the Company’s mission, vision, values and goals in the performance of daily activities;
• Responsible for knowing critical functions within the department and capable of mentoring and assisting employees within the department;
• Other duties assigned by the management.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience
• Higher education in Accounting or Finance
• Work Experience: at least 3-5 years in accounting

Skill, Knowledge and Abilities
• Strong knowledge of local tax and legal legislation
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities
• Ability to work under pressure and in flexible working hours
• Adaptation to change
• Fluent in spoken and written Azerbaijani and preferably English and with an excellent command of written and spoken Russian
• Excellent Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Internet, etc.)

Position 2: Financial Controller (Retail)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Control all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition;
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances;
• Coordinate the preparation of monthly financial statements;
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance;
• Support month-end and year-end close process;
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting;
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings;
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Other tasks

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience
• Master degree in Accounting or Finance/MBA;
• Proven working experience as a Controller. BIG4 experience preferred;
• CPA/CMA/ACCA/CIMA preferred.

Skill, Knowledge and Abilities
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures;
• Experience with creating financial statements;
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process;
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills;
• Strong communication and negotiation skills;
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities;
• Ability to work under pressure and in flexible working hours;
• Fluent in spoken and written Azerbaijani and preferably English and with an excellent command of written and spoken Russian;
• Excellent Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Internet, etc.).
