Job Title 1:  Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer within RDS

A vacancy has arisen for a Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer position within RDS as part of the onshore Business Unit. The Lead E&I Engineer will report to the Engineering Team Leader and is responsible for provision of the Electrical & Instrumentation engineering service for the allocated Engineering Office or Project(s).  Lead E&I Engineer is the focal point for the engineering activities of the discipline.

Skills and Experience:

• Supervision of discipline personnel under the Lead Engineer’s control, and for the technical content and quality of work produced by these discipline personnel.
• Knowledge of BP Engineering Technical Practice (ETP) and Guidance on Industry Standard (GIS).
• Development of Instrumentation and Electrical design schemes.
• Participation in Kick Off Meeting, Design Reviews, HAZOP and risk management review.
• Responsible for planning, design, execution and management of the E&I engineering activities
• Requisition of electrical equipment (HV/MV/LV) including Technical Bid Evaluations, Bid Clarification and FAT.
• Direction of Lead Discipline Designer and day to day liaison to ensure coordination between engineering and design personnel.
• Identification of scope of work required to undertake a project / job.  Estimation of deliverables, manpower and time required to execute the scope of work.
• Input to project plans and schedules.
• Early identification to Engineering team Lead & Project Engineer of areas of concern during the course of any project or study with necessary corrective action identified.
• Production of cost effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to both KCA DEUTAG and the Client. Motivation of discipline personnel to do similarly.
• Ensuring operational and maintenance issues are addressed in the design.  Seeking input from operations and maintenance personnel and, if beneficial, carrying out presentations to site personnel of changes to their installation.
• Surveys, both onshore and offshore, to determine information to allow execution of work scopes.
• Monitoring progress of work under the Lead Engineer’s control and achieving completion within the agreed schedule and budget.  Reporting progress as per KCA DEUTAG systems and procedures.
• Forward planning of resources and timely identification of changes to resource requirements to the Engineering team Lead.

Requirements:

• Minimum of degree in Engineering Discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years electrical discipline experience in O&G industry including Greenfield and Brownfield, onshore and offshore projects.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Senior Electrical Engineer role.
• Minimum of experience in drilling facilities equipment package specification and management essential.
• Must have knowledge of engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications.
• Excellent oral and written English.


Job Title 2:  Lead Structural Designer within RDS

A vacancy has arisen for a Lead Structural Designer position within RDS as part of the onshore Business Unit.
The Lead Structural Designer will report to Lead Structural Engineer and is responsible for provision of the structural design service for the allocated Engineering Office or Project(s).  The Lead Structural Designer will be a focal point for the design activities of the discipline.

Skills and Experience:

• Supervision of discipline personnel under the Lead Designer’s control, and for the quality of work produced by these discipline personnel.
• Assurance of competence of design personnel under the Lead Designer’s control.  Identification of personnel shortfalls and submission of proposal to the Lead Discipline Engineer for solutions such as training, coaching or replacement.
• Identification of design scope of work required to undertake a project/job.  Estimation of deliverables, manpower and time required to execute the scope of work.
• Input to project plans and schedules via the Lead Discipline Engineer.
• Early identification to the Lead Discipline Engineer of areas of concern during the course of any project or study with necessary corrective action identified.
• Production of cost effective design solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to both KCA DEUTAG and the Client.  Motivation of discipline personnel to do similarly.

• Forward planning of resources and timely identification of changes to resource requirements to the Lead Discipline Engineer.
• Checking of documents created by own discipline, e.g. drawings, bills of materials.
• Identification of increase or reduction in scope of work and advising the Lead Discipline Engineer accordingly.
• Ensuring Discipline Designers follow discipline procedures for document control and use and retention of check prints / IDC comments prints.

Requirements:

• Experience of 10+ years in Structural Design field.
• Experience of 5+ years in Lead Structural Designer.
• Experience of 10+ years in oil field related to drilling.
• Expedient in 3D Modelling Visulisation and Animation.
• Expedient AutoCad and 3DS Max.
• Expedient in Navisworks.


Job Title 3:  Senior Package Engineer within RDS

A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Package Engineer position within RDS as part of the onshore Business Unit.
The Senior Package Engineer will report to Lead Piping / Mechanical Engineer.

Primary responsibilities of the role are (but not limited to):

• Management of cost effective package equipment design solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to both KCA DEUTAG and the Client.
• Package interface management.
• Preparation of technical requisitions, technical specifications, data sheets and SDRL’s for drilling packaged equipment.
• Preparation of technical bid evaluations and presentation of recommendations.
• Preparation of technical reports.
• Technical Bid Evaluation and Vendor selection.
• Conduct Vendor liaison, co-ordination and management activities and undertake Vendor premises due diligence visits as required.
• Seek input from operations and maintenance personnel and ensure that operational and maintenance issues are addressed in the design of the package equipment.
• Surveys, both onshore and offshore, to gain pertinent information to allow execution of work scopes.
• Raising requisitions for purchase packaged equipment and services, as directed by the Lead Piping / Mechanical Engineer.
• Onshore inspections of equipment, as required.
• Execution of work within manhour budget and time schedule.
• Preparation and review of design drawings, and other discipline design deliverables.
• Participates in design reviews and risk assessments with other project personnel.
• Responsible for designs from initial concepts through fabrication and commissioning.
• Retention of check prints / IDC comment prints in accordance with RDS procedures for document control and use.
• Responsible for ensuring engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, specifications, procedures, etc. produced within the Piping / Mechanical Department.
• Review requests for changes and if outside the scope of work, submit to the relevant Project Engineer an estimate of manhours, costs and any effect to programme.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering Discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in offshore O&G industry.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Proficient user of Autocad.
• Excellent oral and written English.
