• Carry out strategic analysis across the entire oil and gas value chain and develop recommendations;
• Contribute to the implementation and regular updates of the Corporate Strategy;
• Analyse company’s financial and operational performance (e.g., drivers of historical performance, trends over time) periodically and come up with recommendations;
• Assess market characteristics and trends (e.g., market segment sizes, growth rates, critical recent developments, and sources of competitive advantage) and develop proposals based on analysis and research findings;
• Contribute to the communication of strategy across the group and implement relevant actions to improve awareness and engagement around the strategy;
• Contribute to the alignment of Segment and business unit strategies with the overarching Corporate Strategy by developing strategic recommendations;
• Facilitate the preparation and updates of business units’ business plans/strategies in line with corporate strategy and other corporate functions;
• Contribute to the regular update of SOCAR’s strategic financial model by conducting data requests and analysis;
• Undertake additional ad hoc tasks as needed or requested;
• Work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team, develop junior team members.

• Higher education (bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance);
• A degree obtained abroad is a privilege;
• At least 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in oil and gas industry, private equity, investment, asset management, audit, financial advisory consulting;
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of strategic management;
• Advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
• Demonstrable awareness of the entire oil and gas value chain, including relevant fundamental principles;
• Knowledge in fundamental principles of finance, risk, accounting, and financial modelling;
• ACCA, CIMA, CFA, FRM or related certifications, or actively working towards obtaining these credentials, is considered a valuable privilege;
• Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills;
• Demonstrated proficiency in managing complex projects and making critical decisions;
• Fluency in Azerbaijani and English;
• Proactive and adept at problem-solving, anticipating, and resolving issues.
