DevOps Engineer in Digital Banking team

The primary responsibility of the Jr. DevOps Engineer is to implement, maintain, and continuously improve the systems and process necessary to allow us to develop and deploy software faster and improve the performance and resiliency of our systems
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record building and supporting high quality, scalable web applications and APIs.

Candidates must be proactive, creative, organized and analytical as well as adept at working in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with software engineers, architects, and quality assurance to deploy and operate our systems;
• Enhance metrics, monitoring, feedback management, alerting solutions;
• Automate and streamline operations and processes in application;
• Performing general technical troubleshooting & give consultation to development teams;
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in dev, test and production environments;
• Reporting issues/problems to management & work to identify the root cause of system-related issues;
• Creating & maintaining technical documentation including system diagrams & operational procedures.

Requirements:

• Strong sense of teamwork, and a willingness to collaborate with others;
• Self-motivated and proactive mindset;
• Experience with deploying Java applications;
• Ability to use automation tools and to manage installations, pipelines, and scripting (CI/CD (Jenkins/GitLab, etc.);
• Knowledge of end-to-end modern agile software development using technologies: Git, REST APIs, JavaScript frameworks, Docker and Kubernetes;
• Experience with microservice architecture, Windows/Linux environments;
• Solid understanding of fundamental technologies like DNS, Load Balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, networking and security best practices;
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service;
• Scripting and automating system tasks to reduce manual repetitive work;
• Ability to work in a fast-changing environment, finding solutions on difficult tasks.

Nice to have:

• Experience with IBM WebSphere, Microsoft IIS, Apache, NGNIX;
• Experience with JFROG/Nexus, API gateway KongHQ;
• Proficient in scripting and one or more programming languages (Python, Ruby, Perl, PowerShell, Bash);
• Experience with troubleshooting very complex distributed environments and taking corrective actions to ensure availability;
• Experience working with a system that operates 24/7/365;
• Experience with SQL and/or relational databases is a plus;
• Experience with test automation;
• Experience with VMware
