Title: HDPE Extrusion Unit Lead

JOB SUMMARY
1.1 “HDPE Extrusion Lead” position is the operations leader of the HDPE Extrusion area. “HDPE Extrusion Lead” scope of responsibility is from the Powder Feed Silo’s to the HDPE Pellets Blending Silos.
1.2 His primary accountability is the following (all his accountability is listed in Section 3).
1.2.1 Ensuring the production activities of the Extrusion unit:
1.2.2 Ensuring the implementation of production programs;
1.2.3 Ensuring the manufacturing of products of required quality;
1.2.4 Development of process documentation and fulfillment of quality management requirements;
1.2.5 Management and arrangement of training and development of operational personnel related to extrusion.
1.2.6 Ensuring industrial safety, fire safety and labor safety of personnel.
JOB DUTIES
• To participate in the meetings and provide the necessary technical expertise.
• Ensure the development of job descriptions, their availability upon request and timely inclusion of changes to the job descriptions of subordinate employees (if necessary).
• Supervise the complete and timely hand-over of responsibilities between employees of the unit. Upon dismissal of a subordinate employee, ensure the handover of responsibilities and documents to another subordinate employee and, in case of his/her absence of such, take-over the responsibilities and documents himself.
• Provide familiarization of employees of the unit with changes made to proprietary documents of the company.
• Check and control the correctness, completeness and reliability of information prepared by subordinate employees and intended for submission to the relevant state and municipal authorities.
• Ensure compliance with corporate standards, internal regulatory documents of the company by subordinate employees.
• Participate in risk management activities. Timely report to the direct line-manager of all changes and deviations in the work process associated with the potential occurrence of risks. Ensure a predictable mitigation of the level of risks affecting the activities of the company.
• Handover his/her responsibilities to the person who takes office, or to the person who will replace him/her for the time of absence, or handover such to the immediate manager when transferred to another position or dismissed, or on the last working day before a long absence from the workplace (due to a business trip or vacation, etc.).
• Suspend from work (or bar from working) the following categories of employees who:
• has reported to work under the influence of intoxication by alcohol or narcotic or other toxic matters;
• has not undergone, in the prescribed manner, proper training and testing of knowledge and skills in the area of safety and labor protection;
• Cooperate with Maintenance and Engineering to identify and correct root causes of process downtime.
• Be part of waste management.
• Ensure housekeeping activities are routinely performed and his Area is tidy and well organized.
REQUIREMENTS
Functional
• Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo in the plant. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
• Knowledge of the applicable legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic and local regulations governing the production and business activities of the Company including labor protection and industrial safety issues (the OHSE issues);
• Knowledge of the Company’s profile, specialization and structure;
• Knowledge of the Regulations for Manufacturing Processes of the Plant (Operation Manuals), organizational and executive documents including regulatory materials issued by other relevant agencies in relation to the operation of the plant;
• Knowledge of the production process, plant operation modes and production capacity;
• Knowledge of technical requirements applicable to finished products;
• Knowledge of the purpose, design, principles of operation and dislocation of equipment and utilities;
• Knowledge of the rates of consumption of feedstock, materials, electrical power;
• Knowledge of the rules and regulations of labor protection and industrial safety;
• Knowledge of the main harmful and dangerous factors of production that can lead to work injuries, or cause poisoning or disease.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of economics, arrangement of production and management.
• Knowledge of the environmental aspects of the plant operation.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of the labor legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic.
Behavioral
• Must be a competent PC user.
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Support Specialist and other disciplines to determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
• Be able to work overtime (including weekends and holidays) during emergencies, if required.
Education , training and experience
• Six Sigma training
• 5S Training
• Advanced Operations Skills for Process Leads
• Advanced Troubleshooting
• Advanced Communication Skills for Process Plant Supervision
• Minimum 7 – 10 years experience;
• Fluency in Azerbaijani, Russian and English.
