Department: Procurement Department
Reports to: Head of Finance

Areas of Responsibility Include:

The Procurement Manager is responsible for 1) development and implementation of procurement policy 2) coordination, organization of purchasing process 3) contract management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and training of procurement team.
  • Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops cost-effective procurement strategies
  • Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management
  • Negotiates with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms
  • Sources and engages reliable suppliers and vendors
  • Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers including price negotiations, service level agreements, exception handling etc.
  • Reviews existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility, re-negotiates and re-executes them when necessary
  • Controls spend and builds a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
  • Performs risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements
  • Resolves grievances with vendors and suppliers
  • Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Understanding of business and management principles.
  • Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Excel

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three years of experience as a supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position required.
