Title: Senior Scaffolder
Department: Engineering And Maintenance
Location: Sumgait

POSITION SUMMARY

This position delivers Scaffolding assurance through technical knowledge and experience and provides safety leadership in Scaffolding practices. Ensures compliance with Regulatory and Company Standards and Technical Practices. Trains and assesses Company and Contractor personnel involved in scaffolding activities.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Endorse modifications to scaffolding equipment as part of the MOC process.
• Participate in Incident Investigations on Scaffolding related incidents.
• Ensure the risk of dropped objects is assessed and controlled.
• Participate in initial purchasing and receiving of all Scaffolding equipment.
• Communicate and correct potential Scaffolder issues before they impact business performance.
• Participate in scaffolding audits.
• Assure consistent systems and processes exist for use, inspection and certification of Scaffold equipment.
• Endorse complex or complicated scaffold plans and Risk Assessments associated with Scaffolding activities.
• Manage and control of the Scaffolding Loft.
• Will plan and participate in the Scaffolding activities: erection, dismantling etc.
• Personal Attributes: This job role requires the individual to be physically and mentally strong enough to oversee the scaffolding work.
• Prepare relevant documentation for the work execution, e.g., Permit to Work, Task Risk Assessment etc.
• Overall control over the performance of the 3rd party scaffolding companies.
• Participate in the relevant planning events and prepare the execution plan for the TAR activities.
• Supervise the scaffolding team.
• Ensure the competency of his / her subordinates and timely request the training provision.
• Provide assistance and advise on the scaffolding issues.
• Design and preplanning of the scaffold including weight limitations, scaffold type, fall protection, tie-offs, supports, etc.
• Overseeing the erection of the scaffold
• Final inspection of the scaffold prior to initial occupation for use.
• Inspection and documentation of the condition of the scaffold and its ability to be occupied safely.
• Inspections of scaffolds after changes / alterations have been made.
• Oversight and inspections of mobile scaffolds.

REQUIREMENTS

• Design and preplanning of the scaffold including weight limitations, scaffold type, fall protection, tie-offs, supports, etc.
• Overseeing the erection of the scaffold
• Final inspection of the scaffold prior to initial occupation for use.
• Inspection and documentation of the condition of the scaffold and its ability to be occupied safely.
• Inspections of scaffolds after changes / alterations have been made.
• Oversight and inspections of mobile scaffolds.
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulations (including BC) and general best practices relating to scaffold operations and scaffold equipment.
• Knowledge and track record with scaffolding operations and scaffolding equipment risk assessments
• Advanced knowledge of Azerbaijani
• Good knowledge of English & Russian
• Extensive experience working in scaffolding operations or consultancy.
• Excellent working knowledge of Regulations, Standards and Best Practices for Scaffolding
• Working knowledge of equipment inspection requirements and Standards
• Working knowledge of Dropped Object prevention methods.
• Strong communication skills and team-working skills.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills
• Positive thinking, self-motivated, proactive, and committed
• Team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good interpersonal and communications skills
• Level 2 in Scaffolder (minimum)

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience within similar area
• Experience in scaffolding
• Professionally qualified person with extensive scaffolding knowledge in an operating facility.
• Certificated from recognised industry competency organisations in scaffolding activities.
• Scaffold equipment inspection (Advance)
• Level 2 Scaffolder
