POSITION TITLE: Shah Deniz 2 Completions Engineer – Onshore Terminal

SECTION 2: KEY ROLES
• Assist interface / performance management Lead in all aspects of completions engineering
• Interface between Contractor construction / completions and commissioning teams
• Liaison between the interfacing groups (construction / completions / commissioning)
• Management of construction completions performance

SECTION 4: PRE-REQUISITES
SECTION 4.1: BASIC SKILLS
• Competent in communicating in English and Azerbaijan languages, both verbally and written
• Ability to work on own initiative and within Client and Contractor’s teams
• Good inter-personal skills
• Ability to produce written reports and procedures
• Ability to interact with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument and Process Engineers & Technicians
• Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
• Understanding of the interaction between construction / Completions and Commissioning processes
• Experience of developing and understanding project schedules (in P3P6 format)
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings, (Isometrics, structural and piping GAs, SLDs, etc)
• Good organisational skills
SECTION 4.2: TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum: ONC / HNC or local equivalent in construction or engineering related discipline
SECTION 4.3: EXPERIENCE
• Demonstrable HSSE Leadership and personal commitment to Safety
• Awareness of BP or similar completions management systems.
• Track record of experience gained in similar oil and gas / petrochemical / power generation related projects, in a similar role leading to development of the following skill sets:
o Working with construction contractors on large multi-disciplined projects
o Ability to monitor construction progress and understanding technical / schedule related challenges
o Understand the interfaces between disciplines on a large construction site, (civils / structural / electrical / piping / etc.)
o Control of Work processes during execution
• Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and communicate with discipline engineers
• A proven decisive and pro-active team player with good communication skills
• Proven ability to develop procedures , practices and strategies from first principles
• Previous experience in major oil and gas projects, (preferably within onshore gas terminal facilities)
SECTION 5: RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES
• Champion BP’s expectations on HSE & Quality Build
• Ensure a commitment to best HSSE performance by management, contractor and contractor’s workforce
• Ensure completion of all construction activities is in accordance with the requirements of the GOC completions system and also the “MC Skyline”
• Responsible for the interfaces between the construction and the commissioning teams for all matters relating to completion of sub systems / test packs / etc.
• Responsible for Construction group Risk & Lessons Learned activities
• Manage effective communications between planning / construction / completions and commissioning groups
• Lead BP’s expectations on quality and integrity throughout the completions process
• Ensure the construction effort is being applied in accordance with project schedule and BP GPO construction defined practice.
• Development assistance for the Mechanical Completion execution plan for contractor construction of terminal facilities
• Monitor completions performance and provide feedback on a regular basis to BP management team
• Lead by example / control of groups of engineers / technicians / craftsmen
• Provide feedback on construction completions performance by liaison with Contractors construction and completions groups in the field
• Monitor the rate and sequence of completions across all disciplines in accordance with the mechanical completion schedule (MC skyline)
• Monitor and report on the accuracy and rate of completion of all GOC related documentation (ITRs / ITPs / DMCs)
