The company is currently looking for highly-motivated, competent candidates, who display exemplary safety behavior and the highest standards of work ethics, to fill the following vacancy:

Vacancy 1: Cementing Engineer

Cementing engineer is responsible for:

Supporting the timely provision and execution of technically and commercially optimal cementing plans for SOCAR AQS.

Location: Onshore & offshore as required

Employment Type: Full time, 8-hour onshore-based with offshore trips as required.

Job responsibilities:

a. To support Tenders Committee in preparing cementing RFI and RFP, and in technical analysis of cementing-related bids;
b. To work with selected vendors, internal departments and client to design and plan for upcoming cementing jobs;

c. To work with selected vendors to create and formally approve technically and commercially optimal cement recipes and placement plans. These plans should include formally documented risk and mitigation assessments in support of API Spec Q2;
d.  When problems occur, to work with selected vendors on recovery plans;
e. To create and monitor cementing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) annually and per well;
f. To prepare purchasing specifications for any base chemicals and additives purchased by SOCAR AQS in line with industry best practices;
g. To audit through field and onshore office/laboratory visits the compliance and performance of vendor systems and personnel.;
h. To create optimized documented “best practices” SOCAR AQS cementing guidelines to be followed by vendor field cementing engineers and to audit the same to confirm compliance;
i. To supervise the creation, and then approve, cementing-related end of well reports from the vendors.

HSE responsibilities:

– Familiarize themselves with the SOCAR AQS Safety Policy and to take reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of themselves and other persons likely to be affected by their acts or omissions as required under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974;
– Actively promote safety culture in discussions with offshore maintenance personnel and during visits to operations locations;

– Comply with the safety procedures implemented by the company;

– Take immediate actions or report to direct supervisor on any actual or potential danger to health, safety or equipment on site;
– Comply with ecological standards implemented in the company;

Qualifications / Experience / Competencies

 Relevant Higher technical education;
 Experience:
• At least 3 years in the field as a cementing engineer for a major services company or operator;
• At least 1 year in a management capacity supervising the work of other cementing engineers;
• Preferably, have worked in a laboratory on cement fluid and placement design.
 Language skills
o Azeri (fluent);
o English (upper-intermediate level);
o Russian (knowledge of technical terms)
 Software skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Outlook), SAP knowledge is advantageous.

Vacancy 2: Drilling and Completion Fluids Engineer

Drilling and completion fluids engineer is responsible for:

Organizing and supporting the timely provision and maintenance of technically and commercially optimal drilling and completion fluid services for SOCAR AQS operations.

Location: Onshore & Offshore as required
Employment Type: Full time, 8-hour onshore based with offshore trips as required

Job responsibilities:

a. To support Tenders Committee in preparing Drilling and Completion Fluids RFI and RFP, and in subsequent technical analysis of submitted bids for the same;
b. To work with selected vendors, internal departments and client to design and plan for optimal Drilling and Completions Fluids system for upcoming operations;
c. To work with selected vendors to create and formally approve technically and commercially optimal fluid recipes and associated inventory plans. These plans should include formally documented risk and mitigation assessments in support of API Spec Q2;
d. On a daily basis to work with selected vendors to ensure required fluids properties are being maintained in a cost efficient manner;
e. To create and monitor fluids Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) annually and per well;
f.   To prepare purchasing specifications for base chemicals and additives purchased by SOCAR AQS in line with industry best practices;
g. To audit through field and onshore office/laboratory visits the compliance and performance of vendor systems and personnel;
h. To create optimized documented “best practices” SOCAR AQS fluids maintenance guidelines to be followed by vendor field fluids engineers and to audit the same to confirm compliance;
i.   To supervise the creation, and then approve, fluids-related end of well reports from the vendors.
