1. Company Information:

In March 2015 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and KBR announced an agreement to establish a new engineering and support Services Company in Azerbaijan. The legal entity name of the new company is SOCAR-KBR LLC and provides design, engineering, technical, procurement, construction supervision and project management services for projects across the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas sectors, in the Azerbaijan – Georgia – Turkey (AGT) region. The key objective of this strong partnership is to create a world class Azerbaijan-based EPCM services company that will utilize the strengths of both organizations and deliver top quality results by utilizing, developing and promoting Azerbaijani national content. The company has a long term commitment from both organizations.

2. Position Title: Principal Technical Professional – Process 

Work Location: Baku

3. General Responsibility:

 To be a key member of the Process engineering team in Baku, by supporting the process engineering and activities for the Baku scope of work.
 To supervise and check the process engineering work of others in the Baku team as the project requires
 Providing technical support and guidance to junior engineers.
 To actively support the Baku Office to grow the office capability in process engineering
 To learn and develop competence in the KBR standard process engineering tools and software in order to complete work effectively.
 Methods/guidelines and forms within covering both Process Engineering and SmartPlant PID.
 To look for opportunities for continuous professional development (CPD) by maintaining a development plan and working with the Process DM.

4. Specific Areas of Responsibility for the Project:

To undertake process engineering tasks in the utilities area including:

 Resolving engineering issues with other disciplines
 Providing/updating equipment data sheets and hydraulic and PSV sizing calculations
 Checking/inputting process data for instruments into SmartPlant Instrumentation
 Updating P&IDs, using Project Update Note (Change Management) procedure where appropriate and maintaining P&ID Masters
 Reviewing Vendor documentation and ensuring project design requirement are met
 Preparation of Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG)
 Compile of Cause & Effects
 Compile Process Control Narratives
 Represent Process Discipline in HAZOPS/ Design Reviews and other Safety Assessments such as LOPAs

Minimum of 10 years of experience is required, previous experience with KBR is a preference.
