Senior Internal Auditor

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head of Internal Audit in managing and organizing the internal audit department’s activities;
• Lead audit assignments in area of business support and governance processes with focus on Accounting, Financial Reporting, Risk Management and Corporate Governance;
• Leads assigned audit engagements successfully from beginning to end;
• Ensures audit conclusions are based on a complete understanding of the process, circumstances, and risk;
• Obtains and reviews evidence ensuring audit conclusions are well-documented;
• Ensures adherence at all times to all applicable department and professional standards;
• Communicates assigned tasks to engagement team in a manner that is clear and concise ensuring high quality, accurate, and efficient results.

Required Qualifications:

• University degree (Economic is more preferential)
• At least 3 years of experience in area of internal auditing, financial reporting, budget control or risk management in banking field or external auditing,
• Strong organization and follow up skills including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet all deadlines and commitments;
• Demonstrated ability to lead a small team and ensure successful results;
• Good knowledge and understanding of International Professional Practices Framework, Code of Ethics of the IIA;
• Ability to apply audit standards through practical application;
• Good understanding of the bank financial reporting process;
• Solid understanding and ability to apply risk management and internal control concepts;
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Solid listening skills and ability to identify gaps in logic;
• Fluent Azeri, Russian, and English;
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards of Auditing (ISA), local accounting standards;
• Knowledge of the local banking regulations as well as the relevant tax law is an asset.
