1. Senior Document Controller within RDS (fixed-term until 30/11/2018)

Location: Azerbaijan

A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Document Controller position within RDS who is responsible for control of all documentation produced and used by RDS.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Control of all engineering documentation produced by RDS, including some assistance in allocating document numbers, maintenance of document registers, issue and tracking of documents issued for comment, issue of documents via transmittals, and filing of document originals.
• Set-up and control of paper copy archive files and folders.
• Receipt, control and timely return of vendor documentation.
• Location and acquisition / loan of technical standards and documents as required by discipline personnel or other RDS offices.
• Focal point for interface with Client document databases.
• Administration of storage system for all closed-out project documentation, including acting as focal point, collection and identification of documents for archiving, retrieval of archived documents when required and authorization of invoices from storage contractor.
• Management of variable, often unexpected and challenging workload and delivery.
• Use of safe approach in working practices, following the objectives of the Office and Project-specific Health, Safety and Environmental Plans.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a Document Control and Document Management position.
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
• Excellent English communication and written skills.
• Well experienced with latest MS-Office technologies.


2. Senior Structural Engineer (Fixed term contract until 30/11/2018)

Location:  Baku, Azerbaijan

A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Structural Engineer, position within RDS as a part of the onshore Business Unit.  The Senior Structural Engineer will report to the Lead Structural Engineer and is responsible for preparation of design deliverables for allocated jobs / projects.

Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of, and compliance with, KCA Deutag Management Systems.
• Knowledge of, and compliance with, client, industry and international specifications and standards.
• Supervision of Discipline Engineers under own control, and for the technical content and quality of work produced by these discipline personnel.
• Direction of Discipline Designer(s) allocated to own area of responsibility and frequent liaison to ensure coordination.
• Production of cost effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to both KCA Deutag and the Client. Motivation of discipline personnel allocated to own area of responsibility to do similarly.
• Originating engineer documentation for allocated work scopes, e.g. calculations, design reports and specifications, and checking similar documentation and work packs created by others.
• Ensuring operational and maintenance issues are addressed in the design. Seeking input from operations and maintenance personnel and, if beneficial, carrying out presentations to the site personnel regarding changes to their installation.
• Surveys, both onshore and offshore, to determine information to allow execution of work scopes.
• Raising requisitions for purchase of engineered items and services, as directed by the Lead Discipline Engineer.
• Execution of work within manhour budget and time schedule.
• Early identification to the Lead Discipline Engineer of areas of concern during the course of any project or study with necessary corrective action identified.
• Checking engineering content of design deliverables for allocated work scopes, e.g. drawings, bills of material.
• Review of Supplier / Vendor documents.
• Communication where appropriate, with Engineers of the others discipline to ensure design integrity and consistency.
• Technical input to procurement activities and raising requisitions for purchase of engineered items and services.
• Identification of increase or reduction in scope of work and advising the Lead Discipline Engineer accordingly.
• Following discipline procedures for document control and use and retention of check prints / IDC comments prints as directed by the Lead Discipline Engineer.
• Representation of KCA Deutag with Clients and Suppliers / Vendors in a professional manner.
• Assistance to the Lead Discipline Engineer as directed.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Must be a Degree Qualified Engineer (preferably chartered status).
• A minimum of 10 years engineering experience in an engineering design environment in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Must have worked at least 5-years in a supervisory role.
• An experienced user of STAAD and Ansys Software.
• Drilling Facilities design experience is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills


3. Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer (Fixed term contract till 30/11/2018)

Location: Baku, Azerbaijan

A vacancy has arisen for a Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer position within RDS as part of the onshore Business Unit. The Lead E&I Engineer will report to the Engineering Team Leader and is responsible for provision of the Electrical & Instrumentation engineering service for the allocated Engineering Office or Project(s).  The Lead E&I Engineer is the focal point for the engineering activities of the discipline.

Responsibilities:

• Supervision of discipline personnel under the Lead Engineer’s control, and for the technical content and quality of work produced by these discipline personnel.
• Knowledge of BP Engineering Technical Practice (ETP) and Guidance on Industry Standard (GIS).
• Development of Instrumentation and Electrical design schemes.
• Participation in Kick Off Meeting, Design Reviews, HAZOP and risk management review.
• Responsible for planning, design, execution and management of the E&I engineering activities
• Requisition of electrical equipment (HV/MV/LV) including Technical Bid Evaluations, Bid Clarification and FAT.
• Direction of Lead Discipline Designer and day-to-day liaison to ensure coordination between engineering and design personnel.
• Identification of scope of work required to undertake a project / job. Estimation of deliverables, manpower and time required to execute the scope of work.
• Input to project plans and schedules.
• Early identification to Engineering Team Lead & Project Engineer of areas of concern during the course of any project or study with necessary corrective action identified.
• Production of cost effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to both KCA DEUTAG and the Client. Motivation of discipline personnel to perform similarly.
• Ensuring operational and maintenance issues are addressed in the design. Seeking input from operations and maintenance personnel and, if beneficial, carrying out presentations to site personnel of changes to their installation.
• Surveys, both onshore and offshore, to determine information to allow execution of work scopes.
• Monitoring progress of work under the Lead Engineer’s control and achieving completion within the agreed schedule and budget.  Reporting progress as per KCA DEUTAG systems and procedures.
• Forward planning of resources and timely identification of changes to resource requirements to the Engineering Team Lead.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Must be a Degree Qualified Engineer (preferably chartered status).
• Minimum of 10 years electrical discipline experience in O&G industry including Greenfield and Brownfield, onshore and offshore projects.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Senior Electrical Engineer role.
• Drilling facilities design experience is advantageous.
• Must have knowledge of engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills essential for Client, Interdisciplinary and Vendor coordination.


4. Senior Piping Designer (Fixed term contract until 30/11/2018)

Location:  Baku, Azerbaijan

A vacancy has arisen within RDS as part of the onshore Business Unit for a Senior Piping Designer who is responsible for preparation of design deliverables for allocated jobs / projects.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring all work carried out in accordance with RDS Quality Management Systems and Procedures.
• Knowledge of, and compliance with KCA Deutag Management Systems along with, client, industry and international specifications / standards.
• Supervise discipline personnel under own control, and for the quality of work produced by these discipline personnel.
• Production of cost effective design solutions that are fir for purpose, safe and add value to both KCA Deutag and the Client. Motivation of discipline personnel allocated to own area of responsibility to do similarly.
• Originate design documentation for allocated work scopes, e.g. drawings, sketches and bill of materials, and checking similar documentation created by others.

• Identify increase or reduction in scope and advise the Lead Piping Engineer accordingly.
• Produce equipment arrangements. Produce Piping Plans. Sections and isometrics.
• Participate in design reviews with project personnel.
• Responsible for designs from initial concepts through fabrication and commissioning.
• Responsible for equipment and piping systems within an AutoCAD 2D and 3D environment to meet client and project requirements.
• Represent KCA Deutag with Clients and Suppliers / Vendors in a professional manner.
• Use of safe approach in working practises, following the objectives of the Office and Project specific Health, Safety and Environment Plans.
• Familiarise themselves with the Group Safety Policy and take all reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of themselves and persons likely to be affected by their acts or omissions, as required by KCA Deutag Operational Integrity Management System (OIMS).

Key Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of degree in Engineering Discipline or HNC / NVQ in discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years piping design experience in an engineering design environment in O&G industry.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supervisory role.
• Excellent knowledge of engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications.
• Proficient user of AutoCAD.
• Ability to work and check piping deliverables in a 2-D and 3-D environment.
• Drilling Facilities experience advantageous.
• Recognised training in AutoCAD.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills essential for Client, Interdisciplinary and Vendor coordination.


5. Senior Structural Designer (Fixed term contract until 30/11/208)

Location:  Baku, Azerbaijan

A vacancy has arisen within RDS as part of the onshore Business Unit for a Senior Structural Designer who is responsible for preparation of design deliverables for allocated jobs / projects.

Responsibilities:

• As directed by the Lead Structural Designer, supervision of discipline personnel under own control, and for the quality of work produced by these discipline personnel.
• Production of cost effective design solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to both KCA DEUTAG and the Client.  Originating design documentation for allocated work scopes, e.g. drawings, sketches and bills of materials, and checking similar documentation created by others.
• Interact with Discipline Engineers for input to drawings, assigning tasks to designers / draftsmen and to carry out checks before passing on to Engineer/Lead for approval.
• Plan and manage work schedules to meet project schedule.
• Ensure operational and maintenance issues are addressed in the design. Seeking input from operations and maintenance personnel.
• Knowledge of industry and international specifications/ standards.
• Undertake surveys, both onshore and offshore, to determine information to allow execution of work scopes.
• Raise requisitions for purchase of engineered items and services, as directed by the Lead Discipline Designer/ Engineer.
• Advise / participate in template preparation and detailing approach, and guide designer and draftsmen accordingly.
• QA/ QC inspections of onshore-procured materials and fabrications.

• Adhere to requirements of RDS Systems and processes.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Diploma in Structural/ Mechanical/ Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience as a structural designer/draftsman with an emphasis in steel structures for the offshore oil & gas industry.
• A detailed understanding of bolted and welded connections.
• Must have worked at least 5-years in a supervisory role, leading and guiding a team of designers / draftsmen.
• Ability to understand and interpret input from Engineers and develop detailed engineering drawings at the same.
• Expertise in use of AutoCAD including its 3-D Modelling facility and to be able to extract 2-D drawings from the 3-D model.
• Development of drawing / drafting standards as required.
• Familiar with International standards and Code of Practices for drafting and detailing.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills essential for Client, Interdisciplinary and Vendor coordination.
• Experience in reviewing drawings produced from other entities e.g. vendors.
• Excellent verbal and written English.


6. Lead Piping / Mechanical Engineer (Fixed term until 30/11/2018)

Location: Azerbaijan

A vacancy has arisen for a Lead Piping / Mechanical Engineer position within RDS as part of the onshore Business Unit. The Lead Piping / Mechanical Engineer will report to Engineering Team Leader and is the focal point for the engineering activities of the discipline.

The areas of responsibility include technical integrity assurance, delivery to schedule, delivery to budget, and direction of discipline personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of, and compliance with, KCA Deutag Management Systems.
• Assurance the personnel under the Lead Engineer’s control comply with the procedures.
• Knowledge of, and compliance with, client, industry and international specifications and standards. Assurance the personnel under the Lead Engineer’s control comply with relevant documents.
• Supervision of discipline personnel under the Lead Engineer’s control, and control of the technical content and quality of work produced by these discipline personnel.
• Assurance of competence of engineering personnel under the Lead Engineer’s control. Identification of personnel shortfalls and submission of proposal to Chief Discipline Engineer for solutions such as training, coaching or replacement.
• Direction of Lead Discipline Designer and frequent liaison to ensure coordination between engineering and design personnel.
• Identification of scope of work required to undertake a project / job. Estimation of deliverables, manpower and time required to execute the scope of work.
• Input to project plans and schedules.

• Attendance at meetings called by Project Manager / Engineer, e.g. kick off meeting, progress meeting, or delegation of a deputy to attend instead.
• Attendance at Design reviews, HAZOPs, Constructability Assessments etc. or delegation of a deputy to attend instead.
• Ensuring Discipline Engineers follow discipline procedures for document control and use and retention of check prints / IDC comments prints
• Ensuring close-out of completed jobs in a timely manner.
• Representation of KCA Deutag with Clients and Suppliers / Vendors in a professional manner.
• Validation of timesheets for Lead Discipline Designer and Discipline Engineers under the Lead Engineer’s control

Key Skills and Experience:

• Must be a Degree Qualified Engineer (preferably chartered status)
• A minimum of 10 years engineering experience in an engineering design environment in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Drilling Facilities design experience is advantageous.
• Piping Engineering experience is mandatory. Additional Mechanical Package Engineering experience is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
