Job Summary:

The Legal Department Manager is responsible for the company’s legal and compliance framework. The successful candidate will manage and lead a team of compliance associates to address commercial issues in all cross-functional areas, including employment law, contract law, dispute resolution, and business licensing.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage legal and compliance services to meet commercial demands from management.
  • Provide relevant and commercially savvy legal advice.
  • Drafting legal documents, including Offer Documents, Terms & Conditions, Project Agreements, and other business-related legal matters.
  • Focus on delivering value to both the company and its shareholders in order to create a win-win situation.
  • Consult with external panel firms on contractual, commercial, and litigation matters
  • Manage the department’s legal, risk, and audit teams.
  • Undertakes any other tasks and assignments assigned by management at their discretion.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have (Bachelor’s/Master’s degree) in law and regulations or equivalent field 5 years of working experience in the law and compliance-related industries.
  • Must have (basic/fluent) spoken and written (English, Russian, Azerbaijani). Familiar with Azerbaijan corporate and commercial law and litigation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate governance and compliance principles. Strong knowledge of Azerbaijani labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Discretion and the ability to handle sensitive employee information. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook).

Requirements:

  • Azerbaijani citizenship.
  • Fluency in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ethical conduct and a high level of integrity.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in the business environment.
